I discovered something awesome!
What a start to the semester!! I'm a regular user of Logic Pro X, so when it came to teaching popular music and technology at the high school where I recently completed my second Professional Experience, I found it a huge issue that there were no accessible DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) or devices that could run a DAW for students to maximise their experience with music production and composition. Of course, this is a common problem in some local government schools that may not have been granted sufficient funding to invest in great resources to use in the music classroom.. but after being introduced to Soundtrap today, I think I found the answer! It had everything I wanted to use and teach (beat sequencers, midi instruments, loops etc.) all in ONE program, AND is extremely user friendly! Also, unlike GarageBand, it can run on a variety of different devices: Macs, PC, Windows, iPads, Tablets, Android etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Apple products myself, but again, government funding and budgets for local schools; I'll leave that topic for another time...
So here's me playing around on Soundtrap for the first time! It definitely "trapped" my attention...
Keep watching this space as sample audio will be uploaded soon!
